Artist Statement
Rooted in the Universal textile traditions, I have been working with fiber since I was twelve. I have been passionate about wool, cotton, twine, buttons and most recently recycled black and white socks. These materials have become my vehicles of expression. The repetitive and meditative qualities of knitting, felt making, crochet and hand sewing are my methods of working.
I am inspired by the human body and it’s relationship to all of nature: internal organs, roots, bark and trees. I’ve been exploring the nature of entwined relationships, fragile connections, encrusted surfaces and visual boundaries.
